This glorious illustration depicts a spooky tale of crimes committed by ancient witchcraft. The severed hand of a hanged man, The Hand of Glory was used by thieves to help commit dastardly deeds without fear of being caught. The only known one in existence is proudly (and peculiarly) displayed in Whitby museum.
